The giant Amazon

E-commerce giant Amazon currently tops the list of top e-commerce companies.
Its market value is over 932 billion, more than double that of its nearest rival.
It’s also more than the combined total of the other nine companies on the top ten list.
Amazon’s sales have been rising steadily for more than a decade.
In 2019, its revenues reached over $237 billion.
Incidentally, its founder and CEO, Jeff Bezos, has long been the richest man in the world, but he has just ceded his top spot to Bernard Arnaud in 2020.

China’s Alibaba

The second largest e-commerce company is China’s Alibaba, with a market value of $438.38 billion.
While it still has some way to go before catching up with Amazon, it’s showing some pretty impressive growth.
In fact, Jack Ma’s company doubled its net revenues in two years, from 2017 to 2019, from around $23 billion to $54.5 billion.
As the two largest online retailers, Amazon and Alibaba have an irrefutable dominance over e-commerce.
Their combined market value of nearly $1.4 trillion represents more than 80% of the total market value of the world’s top ten e-commerce companies. e commerce company list

South Africa’s Naspers is third on the list, with a market value of just over $100 billion.
As one of the world’s largest technology investors, the Cape Town-based company is also Africa’s most valuable.
Its business exploits include numerous investments in e-commerce companies across the globe, from Latin America to Eastern Europe and from India to the Middle East.
Fourth and fifth on the list are Kering and Ebay, with market values of $75.69 billion and $34.43 billion respectively.
France’s Kering is also an international luxury group with high-end brands including Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen.
