If you run an e-commerce site with Prestashop, you’ll need to clear your cache from time to time.
In most cases, this will be because the changes you’ve made to the site aren’t showing up.
Find out what the cache is for and how to clear it manually on Prestahop 1.7.
What is a cache and why empty it?
The cache is an automatic copy of your files made by your CMS to improve your website’s loading speed and performance.
This action enables your site to quickly and easily retrieve the elements (graphics, text, etc.) it needs to display each time a page is opened by a visitor.
When you update or modify elements on your site, you need to clear the cache.
This is because the cache remembers the site’s old elements, and the page may not always be updated with the new ones.
In this case, you need to delete old files from the cache that are no longer needed, to make room for new additions or modifications.
The caching function is activated by default on Prestahop, and you should delete unnecessary files from it whenever necessary.
